Thank God for Baseball! After the miserable ending for the Vikings season, I am relying heavily on baseball to get me through the rest of the cold winter here in Minnesota.
There are many exciting things going on with our local ballclub. First off is the opening of Target field. The detractors complain about the roof. What those people fail to realize is that Minnesota's weather really isn't all that different than Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, NY or Boston. We're all cold weather cities and everyone seems to get along fine without a roof. Those with the loudest voices....most likely have NOT been to Minnesota.
Secondly, you gotta love our ballclub. I would be SHOCKED if the Twins didn't run away with the division this year. We have a potent offense that have gotten better with additions of JJ Hardy and Jim Thome. Now if we can only sign O-Hud to play second. We'd be set. Bring on the Yanks!!!
Third, the impending signing of our hometown hero... Joe Mauer. He is about to sign a "legacy" contract that will keep him here for the rest of his day. Thank you Shapiro for representing Mauer. You are a great throwback to agents of the past.
That's all for now. Good luck and Go Twins!
